A burglary investigation that began with a report made to Jasper Police on January 31, 2011 has resulted in Jasper Police requesting charges of burglary and theft be filed against a Huntingburg man. The residents at 144 E. 37th Street, Jasper reported to Jasper Police on January 31, 2011 that an unknown person(s) had been inside their residence during the day. The residents told police that they believed that the suspect(s) entered the residence through an unlocked window. The residents reported that an amount of money (that police are not disclosing) was taken from the home. The investigation continued and police questioned 19 year old Kyle G. Schneider regarding the crimes. This interview took place on September 26, 2011. Information gathered in this interview has resulted in Jasper Police forwarding affidavits to the Dubois County prosecutor’s office for burglary, a class B felony, and theft, a class D felony. Schneider is currently incarcerated in the Dubois County Community Corrections Center for unrelated criminal charges. The Indiana State Police Laboratory Division assisted Jasper Police in their investigation. Jasper Police remind all residents to lock their vehicle while unattended and to lock the windows and doors to their residences when they are not home.
