DALE — A Cass Township nursery on the Dubois County line has been victimized for a second time within 48 hours this week.
On Monday, the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department investigated a burglary at Family Roots Nursery, 4781 W. 1200S. The crime, which occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday, found an undisclosed amount of money taken from a file safe inside the business after a door was pried open and damaged.
Deputies were called back to the business north of I-64 and west of U.S. 231 at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday when it was reported that an RC Cola vending machine on the nursery’s porch had been pried open. The machine’s bill changer containing a minimal amount of money had been removed. The RC machine was heavily damaged in the process, according to police.
The latest crime happened sometime between 9:45 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to police. Anyone who saw something suspicious or who may have seen a vehicle in the area — which could include a motorcycle or moped — is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 482-3522.–DC Herald 08-03-2011
